Academic enrichment

At our school, we believe in providing students with a well-rounded education that goes beyond the classroom. Our academic enrichment programme is designed to challenge and inspire students, helping them to develop critical thinking, creativity, and a passion for lifelong learning.

We offer a wide range of opportunities to extend and enhance the curriculum, including:

My Super Curricular

The ‘My Super Curricular Programme’ offers pupils the chance to expand their learning beyond the classroom, encouraging the exploration of new subjects and topics. Through this initiative, pupils can engage in a variety of activities that complement their academic studies, from independent research to creative challenges.

The programme fosters curiosity, critical thinking, and personal growth, allowing pupils to explore areas of interest while developing key skills such as time management and communication. It empowers them to take ownership of their learning, enhancing their knowledge in subjects like science, literature, history, and the arts.

By participating in ‘My Super Curricular’, pupils become more independent, motivated learners, well-equipped for future academic success and personal development.

UN Sustainable Development Goals

As part of our academic enrichment, we engage pupils with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to help them understand global challenges and their role in making a positive impact. Through our Global Perspectives programme, pupils explore the SDGs from personal, local, and global viewpoints, developing critical thinking and awareness of interconnected global issues.

Pupils actively engage in projects that address real-world challenges like climate change, poverty, and inequality, encouraging collaboration, creativity, and problem-solving. By integrating the SDGs into our curriculum, we empower pupils to become informed global citizens, ready to contribute to a sustainable future.

The Duke of Edinburgh's Award

The Duke of Edinburgh's Award (DofE) programme provides pupils with the opportunity to develop essential life skills through a range of challenging and rewarding activities. This globally recognised programme encourages pupils to step outside their comfort zones, engage in community service, improve physical fitness, and undertake outdoor expeditions.

Pupils participate in the award at different levels—Bronze, Silver, and Gold—each requiring commitment to activities such as volunteering, skill-building, and physical challenges. The expedition section, in particular, teaches teamwork, resilience, and problem-solving as pupils plan and carry out their own journeys.

Through DofE, pupils not only gain valuable experiences and qualifications but also develop confidence, responsibility, and a sense of achievement, preparing them for both future academic and personal success.

MUN

We also offer pupils the opportunity to participate in Model United Nations (MUN), a dynamic and engaging programme that simulates the workings of the United Nations. Through MUN, pupils gain a deeper understanding of international relations, diplomacy, and global issues, while developing valuable skills such as public speaking, negotiation, and critical thinking.

In MUN, pupils take on the role of diplomats representing different countries and engage in discussions and debates on a range of pressing global topics. This allows them to explore the perspectives of different nations, understand the complexities of international decision-making, and develop a more nuanced view of world affairs.

Throughout the programme, pupils will work collaboratively to draft resolutions, participate in committee sessions, and learn the art of diplomacy, all while building their confidence and leadership skills.

Field trips

To enhance pupils' learning, we organise field trips that provide enriching experiences outside the classroom. These trips offer valuable opportunities to connect classroom learning with real-world applications, from visiting museums and cultural landmarks to exploring scientific institutions.

Field trips encourage pupils to engage actively with their learning, fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and a deeper understanding of the subjects they study. Through these enriching experiences, pupils gain fresh perspectives and connect with the world beyond the classroom.
